Offline Mode
My home internet connection is Night surfing only. While working on the projects at day time, I cannot access the internet and so the SlimTimer. If there is an offline mode, just like Google Reader, I can run the Timer at daytime and sync it at Night time when I get the connection. -

Task grouping by project
plannedThis would be so much easier than adding new tags to distinguish them. I could also make sharing tasks easier -- just share out all tasks in a project to the same set of users. Reporting, likewise, could see some simplification with the addition of project-based organization.Tags as a catch-all heirarchy solution started off as a good idea, but as the site as grown and I've learned more about SlimTimer user usage patterns I now see a place for "supertags" or explicitly defining concepts like Project and Billable v Non-billable tasks. I'll have more on this soon.

Make it possible to pause a task
plannedSometimes when I'm in then middle of a task I get a phone call which I time as well. After this phone call I would like to be able to pick one of the previous tasks and continue that one without having to enter the tag and the comment again. -

go open source
As you learned with calendars, everyone has their own idea of how a timer application should work. I already have a closed-source timer app. and the inability to customize it is what makes me seek an alternative. Slimtimer looks nice, but without the ability to customize, there little point in trying it. -

Create a firefox extension
Create a Firefox browser extension that allows the user to track and edit tasks directly on it. The web sidebar is great but an actual extension would be much better because it could include, among other things, offline tracking and syncing. And a more integrated interface. -

Provide optional "Is this task still active?" pop-ups
Provide optional pop-ups, with user-selectable time intervals (e.g. 15 min, 30 min, 1 hours, etc.), that will open a window basically saying "Hey, are you still doing this task?" I run SlimTimer in a small separate window via the "Bubbles" thing. That window is usually covered by my browser, and I often forget to stop a task when I'm done. I think my suggestion would provide a solution to this problem. -

Auto-discard entries of less than 30s or similar
I sometimes click the wrong task in the popup. Or I change my mind within a few seconds and click another one. This then creates a new entry in the time sheet which I often want to delete for a clean-up. It would be nice to have an option to ignore anything below a threshold (of 1 to 60 seconds or something). -

Add field "Estimate" per task
I would like to be able to specify an (optional) estimate to a task so that I can compare it with my actual effort. A report should show the difference (actual - estimate) for those tasks that have estimates. -

show real total in timer window
The total in the timer window counts solely what was enterend in the timer since the timer was last opened. It doesn't consider changes made in "edit entries". Also I´d much rather see the total of the day, rather than "total since last opened" -

Remember predefined Reports
A button to save the options of a personal created report may be useful. -

KEEP IT SIMPLE Dont over complicate it with features
Dont add to many features. a suggestion list like this can lead to featuritis and one of the beauties of SlimTimer is its easy to use interface. I dont want 1500 different functions like Word.Words to live by. We plan to keep this in the front of brain at all times.

Split tasks in dayview
I forgot to Stop my timer at lunch !! It would be nice I could split one task in two pieces. (first entry gets a new endtime and the "new" second one started after lunch ;-) ) -

add iphone/ipod support
It would be like crack to have slimtimer work on my iPod Touch. It almost does:the SlimTimer window opens on iPhone/iPod Touch Safari, but when I use it no new timesheet entries are ever saved. So close to bliss! Make this work! PS also make it choose the correct screen size, so I don't have to zoom in to see the controls. (I don't know if this latter wish is possible -- you'll have to investigate the iPhone architecture.) -

Pause on idle
Allow for a task to be paused during periods of no activity. Allow this to be done manually (click a button in sidebar SlimTimer or Bubbles) or detect when a user's computer is idle for X minutes or detect their screensaver. This will hopefully improve accuracy of time entries by helping to compensate for breaks when a SlimTimer user forgets to stop their timer. -

Add Tags to all Entries in a Report
startedI would like to be able to add a "Billed" tag to entries when I generate an invoice. This way I can run a report excluding all "Billed" entries to make sure I don't double bill someone. I can think of other uses too but the example above solves two problems.Trying to solve a few problems, this will be done soon.

export to ical or outlook automatically
This feature shouldn't be so hard to implement and would definitely get the attention of many people. By just adding the alternative of an internet calendar link (ical), or the option of exporting the outlook entries, people can visualize how they used their time in different platforms such as google calendar, outlook, or the mac calendar. It also brings the alternative of syncing with pocket pc and other devices instead of having to download a csv. -

Completed task archiving
The completed task view gets pretty crowded after you've used SlimTimer to track a few projects. Allowing users to archive these tasks in an organized way would help clean things up, leaving the completed view as an area for completed tasks for currently active projects only. This archiving feature could be nicely integrated with the project-based grouping I suggested earlier -- projects that are marked as finished get automatically archived with all their tasks grouped together. -

Add the name of the task owner on the reports
This would be especially useful when running reports for 'everyone' or running report for 'specific' multiple users. -

Provide a page to edit tags
Being able to manage, edit, delete and merge tags is definitely required. Being able to group or color them would be a nice bonus. Being able to define exclusivity would be a grand bonus (like billed vs non-billable) -

Allow to edit Start Time of active Task in Timer
It is often not possible for me to start the Timer "in time". E. g. when my day starts it takes some time until I have the timer open. In these cases I would like to have the possibility: 1. To start a task in the timer 2. Adjust the start time manually while the task is still active. A nice addon would be that doing so also adjust the end time of the previous active task in case there is a conflict. This would allow easy adjustment when you have forgotten to start a new task. -

Make a mobile version
make website mobile browser aware, for phone browsers, pocketpc, etc Timer works, but cant add comments. -

Clickable tasks in reports
I often run a report and then see -- oops, forgot to tag that item. Instead of then going over to manage tasks and finding the item in the long long list, it would be great if the tasks were simply clickable or had an edit link nearby to edit them directly from the report. -

Merge tasks in dayview
Sometimes I wanted to merge consecutive and equal tasks. Til now I had to adjust one of them and delete the other. -

..to have cut/copy/paste for time entries.
Sometimes I put in time entries under the wrong date. Once I notice, I have to remove and recreate each task. It would be nice cut and paste entries to another day. It would also be good to duplicate entries. -

Set AM/PM based on current time
If creating an entry in the afternoon, the start time auto-complete should default to PM rather than AM. Likewise, the end time should be smart enough to know that if I start at 9am and end at '5' I most likely mean 5pm. In other words, assume end time is within 24 hrs of start, and adjust AM/PM accordingly. -

Total hours logged counter with manual reset
Think "Trip Odometer". It's a counter that doesn't reset to zero when you change tasks, instead it only changes to zero when the user resets it. This could be used as a day or week timer to keep track of total hours worked. It could even be used between invoices. -

Stop a running task from "Edit entries"
I work on several locations+computers. Sometimes I forget to stop a task. It would be nice to be able to stop it from within http://www.slimtimer.com/edit -

Faster - Make it faster
Good application but it's getting s-l--o---w----e-----r. Simple things like defaulting to the "My tasks" on the manage tasks list might speed up that one page for people like me who have 7 pages of shared tasks. But I've been using the application nearly a year and it's significantly slower now. -

make a calendar view
so we can add or edit certain points without having to click the previous or next button to go to the right date. -

OpenID login or use SSL
The current login is done over HTTP which is insecure. An improvement would be to use HTTPS, but my preferred option would be OpenID-enable Slimtimer, so I have one centralised username/password for all websites. -

Google Gadget
This could then be used to start and stop tasks from your iGoogle homepage or just a desktop widget from Google Desktop (you could even put the widget on your own site). -

Allow task filtering in the SlimTimer Client
I'd like to have a completely client-side (no AJAX calls) filtering mechanism on the SlimTimer Client. I should be able to filter based on task tag, task name, sharing attributes, and perhaps time since task creation. -

add tag(s) to multiple tasks at once
for example, I've just invoiced many tasks and now need to mark them with "billed" so as not to double bill them, come next billing. I currently have to edit each task individually and hope I don't miss one... it'd be even lovelier if this could be done from the reporting section, but even just being able to do em all at once from edit tasks would be great. -

Show subtotals for each day (or group by day) in report
The Invoice report currently groups by DESCRIPTION (doesn't even show the date at all!), but some clients would prefer an invoice grouped by DAY, showing for each day: total hours worked + a list of all the the things done on that day (the comments for each entry falling on that day, and perhaps the tags). -

allow clock to run after closing timer window
If I'm working on a task and I have to restart my computer, that will "stop" a clock for a current project. That may not be true in what I'm doing. Provide an option to let me say "keep clock running" yet close the timer window. -

highlight gaps and overlaps in edit view
I'd like an option (or maybe it wouldn't be too annoying to be there for everyone) to highlight gaps and overlap between time entries in the edit entries view. This highlighting should probably have some minimum gap / overlap time, like a minute or something similar. -

hide/show tasks in edit lists based on tags
example: my completed tasks list is VERY long, making it difficult to find the tasks I've just billed, so that I can tag them with billed. If I could view ONLY the tasks not marked with billed tag or of only a specific customer, it would simplify things quite a bit without having to allow for archiving, or the like. This could also work nicely with an edit multiple feature, allowing for a tag addition to all selected tasks. -

show percentage of time on each task
I'm using SlimTimer simply to track where I spend my time, in order to raise awareness of what my day-to-day tasks entail to my PM. I would really like a report that lists my dozen or so tasks with a percentage next to each one, sorted in descending order; dev: 5%, test: 25%, meetings 70% :D
