    Offline Mode

My home internet connection is Night surfing only. While working on the projects at day time, I cannot access the internet and so the SlimTimer. If there is an offline mode, just like Google Reader, I can run the Timer at daytime and sync it at Night time when I get the connection.

    Task grouping by project

This would be so much easier than adding new tags to distinguish them. I could also make sharing tasks easier -- just share out all tasks in a project to the same set of users. Reporting, likewise, could see some simplification with the addition of project-based organization.

    Status: planned

Tags as a catch-all heirarchy solution started off as a good idea, but as the site as grown and I've learned more about SlimTimer user usage patterns I now see a place for "supertags" or explicitly defining concepts like Project and Billable v Non-billable tasks. I'll have more on this soon.

Make it possible to pause a task

Sometimes when I'm in then middle of a task I get a phone call which I time as well. After this phone call I would like to be able to pick one of the previous tasks and continue that one without having to enter the tag and the comment again.

    Create a firefox extension

Create a Firefox browser extension that allows the user to track and edit tasks directly on it. The web sidebar is great but an actual extension would be much better because it could include, among other things, offline tracking and syncing. And a more integrated interface.

    add iphone/ipod support

It would be like crack to have slimtimer work on my iPod Touch. It almost does:the SlimTimer window opens on iPhone/iPod Touch Safari, but when I use it no new timesheet entries are ever saved. So close to bliss! Make this work! PS also make it choose the correct screen size, so I don't have to z... more

    Add field "Estimate" per task

I would like to be able to specify an (optional) estimate to a task so that I can compare it with my actual effort. A report should show the difference (actual - estimate) for those tasks that have estimates.

Auto-discard entries of less than 30s or similar

I sometimes click the wrong task in the popup. Or I change my mind within a few seconds and click another one. This then creates a new entry in the time sheet which I often want to delete for a clean-up. It would be nice to have an option to ignore anything below a threshold (of 1 to 60 seconds or something).

Provide optional "Is this task still active?" pop-ups

Provide optional pop-ups, with user-selectable time intervals (e.g. 15 min, 30 min, 1 hours, etc.), that will open a window basically saying "Hey, are you still doing this task?"

I run SlimTimer in a small separate window via the "Bubbles" thing. That window is usually cover... more

KEEP IT SIMPLE Dont over complicate it with features

Dont add to many features. a suggestion list like this can lead to featuritis and one of the beauties of SlimTimer is its easy to use interface.
I dont want 1500 different functions like Word.

Words to live by. We plan to keep this in the front of brain at all times.

show real total in timer window

The total in the timer window counts solely what was enterend in the timer since the timer was last opened. It doesn't consider changes made in "edit entries". Also I´d much rather see the total of the day, rather than "total since last opened"

export to ical or outlook automatically

This feature shouldn't be so hard to implement and would definitely get the attention of many people. By just adding the alternative of an internet calendar link (ical), or the option of exporting the outlook entries, people can visualize how they used their time in different platforms such as g... more

Allow to edit Start Time of active Task in Timer

It is often not possible for me to start the Timer "in time". E. g. when my day starts it takes some time until I have the timer open.

In these cases I would like to have the possibility:
    1. To start a task in the timer
    2. Adjust the start time manually while the task is still active.

    Split tasks in dayview

I forgot to Stop my timer at lunch !!
It would be nice I could split one task in two pieces.
(first entry gets a new endtime and the "new" second one started after lunch ;-) )

    OpenID login or use SSL

The current login is done over HTTP which is insecure. An improvement would be to use HTTPS, but my preferred option would be OpenID-enable Slimtimer, so I have one centralised username/password for all websites.

    Faster - Make it faster

Good application but it's getting s-l--o---w----e-----r.

Simple things like defaulting to the "My tasks" on the manage tasks list might speed up that one page for people like me who have 7 pages of shared tasks.

But I've been using the application nearly a year and it's significantly slower now.

    Pause on idle

Allow for a task to be paused during periods of no activity. Allow this to be done manually (click a button in sidebar SlimTimer or Bubbles) or detect when a user's computer is idle for X minutes or detect their screensaver.

This will hopefully improve accuracy of time entries by helping to comp... more
