I disagree, you can make a living with open source software. The correct motto btw is if you don't like this application make it better. It is collaborative instead of competitive. Of course, someone could still the codebase and start something else, but if that is the case it doesn't really mean they didn't like it , on the contrary? But if so, why use the copy if you can use the original?
